The 15 Strongest Anime Characters of All Time

He is one of the strongest anime characters. These unstoppable anime heroes and villains have repeatedly proven to be the strongest characters the medium has to offer.

Untold hours have been spent over the last few decades attempting to identify who the strongest anime character of all time is. Because there are so many people to pick from, answering this question is quite tough. Indeed, considering that everyone has their own set of unique capabilities and abilities, some will claim that there is no final solution. These folks may be correct, but that hasn’t stopped others from looking for one.

There are numerous things to consider when attempting to reach a definitive judgment. Obviously, the most essential of them is the characters’ strength, but other factors like as durability, fighting style, and special abilities must also be considered. The most powerful anime characters excel in each of these categories and have consistently proven themselves in battle.

The debate over who is the strongest anime character of all time is unlikely to stop anytime soon, with fans of specific series insistent that their characters deserve to be on the podium. It’s difficult to see how a truly decisive solution could ever be achieved short of tossing them all into a ring together to slug it out ala Jump Force. Even said, the very subjective aspect of rating the strongest anime characters is unlikely to deter others from doing it.

15/15

Eren Yeager (Attack On Titan)

Though Eren is far from useless while in his human form, it’s not until he transforms that he really becomes deadly. The ability to mutate into an unstoppable fifteen-foot Titan is an incredibly useful one to have up one’s sleeve, and it’s one that comes to his rescue time and time again throughout Attack on Titan.

Due to his sheer size alone, few anime characters could ever really hope to bring him down, while the list of those who could survive his sheer strength is perhaps shorter still. He also carries the Founding Titan power within him, which allows him to control other Titans after coming into contact with someone who has royal blood coursing through their veins.

All Might (My Hero Academia)

My Hero Academia has many powerful heroes and villains, but only All Might, All For One, and Izuku Midoriya can challenge him. The former top pro hero was unfathomably powerful thanks to his One For All quirk, which gave him superhuman strength and speed.

After beating All For One in Episode 50 of the anime, All Might understood when to retire. Even after giving up his Quirk, he remains an important figure in the book, serving as a source of wisdom and power for Izuku and a symbol of world peace.

13/15

Kageyama Shigo (Mob Psycho 100)

Mob Psycho 100’s Kageyama Shigo, aka “Mob,” is proof. Mob’s strength comes from his thoughts, unlike Eren’s transformation. This may not seem amazing on paper, yet his skills hit harder than any giant.

Mob hasn’t mastered his powers, so he binds them to avoid unintentional harm. When Mob loses control of his emotions, they can escape, thus he and others around him can never relax. His full power is terrifying, and he should be afraid.

12/15

Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)

Naruto may not be as physically strong as some of the other iconic anime heroes, but he more than makes up for it with technique and confidence. The once narcissistic ninja’s power over the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, like Sage Mode, makes him a genuine force to be reckoned with.

The ability to build massive Chakra creatures comes in handy frequently, especially as he can employ and combine any element while doing so. With these skills, the Hero of the Hidden Leaf virtually single-handedly fought a World War, demonstrating how powerful he truly is within the limitations of the Naruto universe. He is one of the strongest anime characters.

11/15

Alucard (Hellsing)

Alucard is nearly indestructible at the start of Hellsing thanks to his vast stockpile of souls. However, towards the end of the series, he lives both everywhere and nowhere, making it nearly difficult to destroy him. This, of course, does not bode well for those who find themselves on the wrong side of him, which, for the most part, is his only side.

Alucard is an unstoppable murderer with a diverse set of powers. His incredible speed and power allow him to rip through foes with his bare hands while also making retaliation extremely tough for his victims. He’s just as lethal with a firearm, with his trusty pair of handguns dispatching their fair number of souls over the years.

10/15

Yhwach (Bleach)

As the Soul King’s son, Yhwach was endowed with a number of unique abilities, the most notable of which was the ability to distribute parts of his soul to other living beings simply by touching them. He was able to have people cultivate new powers and abilities for him in this manner, which he was then able to reclaim and use against his enemies.

Though Ichigo eventually defeats Yhwach, this is due to the hero being smarter than the villain, not stronger. If Yhwach had simply killed his rival when he had the chance, he could have ended existence and its never-ending cycle of life and death. With The Almighty at his disposal — a power that allows its wielder to rewrite the future — there could be a version of reality in which he did just that.

9/15

Kaguya Otsutsuki (Naruto)

Naruto has faced countless formidable foes throughout the years, but none as lethal as the Rabbit Goddess, Kaguya. She became the Ten-Tails after devouring the fruit of the God Tree and eventually combining with the God Tree itself, offering her a vast range of skills that made her nearly invincible in battle.

Though Kaguya initially uses her talents to protect her previous clan and her sons, the power gradually consumes her, just like the Chakra fruit did. She almost solely uses her talent to read and manipulate minds for immoral activities after her heart has been lost to darkness, causing tremendous agony and ruin.

8/15

Muzan Kibutsuji (Demon Slayer)

Muzan Kibutsuji’s reputation for mayhem and devastation is well established by this stage in the Demon Slayer anime, given his standing as the head of the Twelve Kizuki, not to mention King of the demons. Even if it wasn’t, his power to control anyone with his demonic blood rushing through their veins virtually negates the reason. He has an invincible army of demons at his disposal, and unlike a regular army, there is no possibility of rebellion.

Muzan, on the other hand, is a tremendously talented fighter in his own right, with superhuman power allowing him to tear through the Hashira ranks with great ease. Even if one of them gets close enough to catch him off guard, his longevity and Biokinetic talents provide the ultimate safety net. It’s not like the Hashira can simply wait him out, either, for Muzan also has endless youth.

7/15

Griffith (Berserk)

There isn’t much to choose between Griffith and Guts, however the former just barely edges out his old comrade due to the dramatic measures he goes to secure dominance. Griffith’s willingness to sacrifice his friends and colleagues in order to become Femto exhibits a level of brutality rarely seen in anime and contributes to Griffith’s status as one of Berserk’s best and most nuanced characters.

Griffith’s actions at the Tower of Rebirth are more than just a shocking and unforgettable setpiece. They’re also symbolic of the character losing the final vestiges of his humanity, as well as some of the significant flaws that typically accompany caring for others. Granted, Guts’ love for Casca and his companions makes him stronger at times, but Griffith’s ability to stir wrath by attacking these people brilliantly demonstrates the double-edged aspect of love.

6/15

Tetsuo Shima (Akira)

Tetsuo, despite being the hero’s best friend, is the main antagonist in Akira. Once fully awakened, his psychic strength proves far too powerful for him to manage, resulting in a sequence of psychic explosions that threaten to destroy the entire universe. Fortunately, Akira pulls him into an alternate dimension before disaster strikes.

What makes Tetsuo so terrifying is that he never fully realizes the full potential of his psychic strength; at least not in a form that he can control. If he could ever fully master his skills, there’s no knowing what he could accomplish or who he could defeat in battle.

5/15

Kaido (One Piece)

Luffy is the series’ major character, but he’s not the strongest. Rocks D. Xebec, Big Mom, and Akainu also deserve mention, but Kaido is undoubtedly the true champion. One of the strongest anime characters.

People bet on Kaido because he can transform into a dragon. He can use all three forms of Haki and has beaten Big Mom and other tough characters. Luffy eventually beats him, but it takes years and some luck.

4/15

Anos Voldigoad (The Misfit of Demon King Academy)

Misfit of Demon King Academy is a newer anime series, but Anos has been around for over 2,000 years. He’s a reincarnation of the first and most powerful Demon King, giving him many combat perks.

Anos is incredibly fast and strong, and he can use magic to destroy the indestructible by looking at it. He can wield Venuzdonoa, the founder’s magic sword made from the original God of Destruction. The blade can destroy almost anything, like Anos’ eyes.

3/15

Giorno Giovanna (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)

While the Stardust Crusaders protagonist, Jotaro Kujo, is undeniably powerful, he is no match for the Part 5 protagonist, Giorno Giovanna. The latter’s Gold Experience Requiem stand ability is simply far too powerful, outperforming all other stands, even Star Power.

GER has the ability to revert actions and can be activated in situations when time does not exist. It may also function independently of Giorno, which means that even if he is mortally wounded in battle, his stance will instantly return him back to life. As a result, he’s nearly immortal and possesses the kind of firepower required to make that count.

2/15

Son Goku (Dragon Ball)

Although one could argue that Zeno is the strongest character in Dragon Ball, there is a significant difference between strength and power. Zeno might be able to wipe all of existence with the snap of his tiny little fingers, but considering his little stature, he probably wouldn’t fair well in a fistfight. Goku, on the other hand, is at home in such circumstances.

On numerous instances, the Super Saiyan has proven to be Earth’s savior, overcoming nearly every hurdle he’s ever encountered. Because of his Saiyan blood, defeat only makes him stronger, and he now has access to the Power of the Gods in Ultra Instinct. He’ll only get stronger as he begins to master that power, like he has for the past three and a half decades. He is one of the strongest anime characters.

1/15

Saitama (One Punch Man)

Because One Punch Man is satirical, it’s acceptable to assume Saitama represents the strongest anime character of all time. Saitama can defeat his opponents with a single attack without breaking a sweat, unlike Goku.

In the One Punch Man universe, other anime characters may thrive. Almost every anime hero has been shown weaker than other characters in their universes, hinting the same will happen again. Saitama has always been and presumably will always be first. One of the strongest anime characters.
