With the official start of summer comes the urge to be physically active and obtain that “beach body” (whatever that is). People want to appear and feel nice, whether it’s owing to a general decrease in apparel worn or the high temperatures that make everything uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, for those of us who were late to the gym (those who didn’t quite stick to those New Year’s Resolutions but have huge plans to crush them next year), that coveted summer physique may not be a reality just yet. So, what are you going to do? Do you sign up for a gym membership and promise to go every morning before splurge on a picture-perfect acai bowl?
Maybe. But, really? Most likely not.
Why? For starters, the facilities are simply too hot for a mid-July workout. Second, despite what many prominent gym chains would have you believe, “gymtimidation” is quite real and very miserable. No one wants to visit a gym after a long winter of avoiding it, just to cling to the nearest cardio machine and hope for the best.
Enter YouTube, the gym-hating people’s rescue. Teeanime scoured the internet for The 10 Best YouTube Channels for Workout at Home, so sit back, don’t relax, and get your sweat on.
1. Blogilates
2. The Fitness Marshall
Caleb Marshall has uploaded engaging, heart-pumping, and user-friendly dance videos since 2014. The films show dancers of all levels, and Marshall’s hilarious interjections (and facial expressions) eliminate any anxieties of looking dumb during the “Cardio Concert.” The exercise part is rapidly forgotten as enticing beats take control. You can combine short videos for a longer workout.
3. HASfit
HASfit’s programming is free because “every Heart and Soul deserves to be fit.” This may not seem like a huge issue, but the company also provides 30-90 day fitness and meal regimens via YouTube. These plans allow various exercise levels and dietary constraints. Full programs are only available on the HASfit website, however separate routines and calorie burn estimates are on the company’s channel. To get your heart rate up, consider one of the longer Tabata HIIT workouts.
4. Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home

Leslie Sansone’s workouts initially remind me of kitschy 1980s workout videos with nonstop smiles, constant beats, and closely synced movements. After watching one of her 45-minute movies and likely breaking a sweat, you’ll understand that her walks are much more than meets the eye. Walk at Home gives a thorough workout with no equipment by including interval training (even if it is not explicitly stated) and keeping people moving throughout the session. It’s ideal for folks who have physical limitations or who simply want to try something different than traditional cardio. We recommend the shorter, one-mile walks for beginners; for added strength training, try the weighted DVDs.
5. Tone It Up

No one could have imagined the popularity of Tone It Up’s long-distance coaching methods just a few years ago when best friends and trainers Karena Dawn and Katrina Scott founded the organization. Unfortunately, a few crucial elements, such as the highly renowned nutrition plan and yearly workout DVDs, are not free. However, with the shorter—but still dense—workout videos and recipes shared on YouTube, it is still feasible to be quite effective. The finest home workout combines YouTube and the trainers’ website, where they offer daily workout programs that integrate various videos from the channel to make a whole workout. Connect with the TIU community on Instagram for daily check-ins and challenges, such as the yearly Bikini Challenge.
6. jessicasmithtv

Jessica Smith, a certified personal trainer, is showcasing her 15 years of experience in the form of weekly, full-length movies. The channel is neatly separated into 13 playlists that are really maintained, ranging from meditation and walking routines to HIIT and barre (a rare occurrence in the internet fitness industry). There are options for persons with physical constraints, such as chair-bound status, joint fragility, or prenatal/postnatal body modifications, in these films. And her lovely dog, who frequently appears, is an added plus (is it just us, or is he much easier to relate to?). We recommend the HIIT for Beginners series and accompanying free four-week plan to anyone who are just getting started on their weight loss quest.
7. POPSUGAR Fitness

POPSUGAR Fitness is the health side of the well-known entertainment and media company. It gives a break from the usual focus on celebrity news and fashion. Considering where the channel came from, it makes sense that it focuses on the most talked-about workouts of the moment, like the Victoria’s Secret model workout shown above or the many celebrity-approved workouts shown. But just because the channel is popular right now doesn’t mean it’s not important. It also has short explanations of exercises that are often done wrong, like the squat or even basic stretching. Also, there are so many different exercises to choose from, like The Bar Method and P90X, that users can make a full fitness plan at home.
8. Fitness Blender

9. BeFit
BeFit distributes most of its content via paid downloads, subscription services, and DVDs, but it’s a terrific resource for free at-home workouts. It has 10 to 20-minute videos by Denise Austin, Jane Fonda, and Scott Herman, among others. This channel is great for those who want to elevate their heart rate quickly, but there are also some lengthier videos. This channel is not focused solely at ladies and contains numerous challenging workouts for males.
10. Yoga With Adriene

Adriene Mishler took her slogan “Find What Feels Good” to YouTube and hasn’t looked back. The channel covers the gamut of mind-body improvement, from weight loss to anxiety and migraines. Mishler trains users on safe yoga principles with short, focused clips. We recommend her 30-day programs for beginners and seasoned yogis to monitor improvement over time.
